Part-Time Store Manager (Madison 360 Center)

Salary Range Starting At: $14.90 per hour

Job Description:

As the Manager, you will assist the store by overseeing store operations, sorting items donated, making schedule of employee work week, helping customers on the store floor, and ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

• Closing the store: Close the cash drawers at the end of each shift, count money, verify sales match register tape, complete necessary paperwork, and make deposits.
• Staff Supervision: Monitor the cashiers, staff and volunteers assigned to the store.
• General Operations: Ensure the store is neat and clear. Oversee and assist production to make sure shelves are fully stocked, items are accurately priced, and coordinate pricing.
• Policies & Procedures: Learn all policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: Past retail experience a plus but not required. Cash handling experience preferred.

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe-From-Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. Compete all necessary computer-based training to be safety compliant @ ladder training, etc.

Skills/Abilities:

• Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.

• Able to positively interact with the public, customers, and donors.

Supervisory Responsibility: As needed to support all employees of thrift store.

Physical Requirements Include:

• Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity

Travel: Minimal travel for picking items if scheduled pick-up for the store.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a store/warehouse environment; will require weekend and evenings.
