Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) classifications for imported products, equipment, materials, components, and spare parts.
• Gather and evaluate technical product information from engineering drawings, specifications, product literature, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Apply classification methodologies using:
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS)
  • General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs)
  • CBP CROSS rulings
  • Explanatory Notes
  • Relevant customs regulations and legal authorities
• Develop and maintain detailed classification justifications to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Customs Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and business units to obtain required information and resolve classification questions.
• Review and monitor classification requests to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Support customs audits, internal reviews, customs inquiries, and binding ruling activities.
• Conduct classification quality reviews and consistency checks across systems and processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, training efforts, and classification governance programs.
• Support annual tariff updates, classification revalidations, and classification data maintenance activities.
