Job Summary

The Unique Asset Manager is primarily responsible for the administration and oversight of non-publicly traded assets held in Trustdesk platform accounts, with real estate serving as a primary area of responsibility. The role will also support other unique asset classes, including closely held businesses and mineral, oil and gas interests, as assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with procedures and policies for unique assets titled or registered to accounts where ONB has fiduciary or reporting responsibility. The position reports to the Senior Manager - Wealth Unique Assets Group. At times, this position will represent Old National Bank as a fiduciary services expert working in tandem with Trust and Wealth Advisors as an integral part of the client relationship management team. The role partners with colleagues across Wealth, Banking, Risk, Legal, and external centers of influence. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge regarding the valuation, management, registration, leasing, acquisition, disposition, inspection, and risk oversight of real estate and other unique assets, together with a broad understanding of wealth management services.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $10,400/Yr. - $203,000/Yr.. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

Key Accountabilities

Serve as a Unique Asset Manager for Wealth Division Trustdesk platform accounts, with primary responsibility for fiduciary real estate administration and oversight.

• Supervise designated officers and support staff as needed to effectively manage real estate and other unique assets.

• Develop and maintain procedures, controls, and reporting for real estate and other unique assets, including valuation, inspection, insurance, environmental, lease, tax, and transaction-related requirements.

• Provide detailed status reporting regarding real estate and other unique assets to TAC and other governance forums as requested.

• Achieve negotiated performance standards, which may include timely real estate reviews and inspections, audit and examination results, compliance testing, client satisfaction, and other assigned metrics.

• Manage an assigned portfolio of real estate and other unique assets, working with Trust Officers, support teams, internal partners, external counsel, appraisers, property managers, brokers, and other vendors to ensure prudent and timely administration.

• Maintain compliance with fiduciary procedures and required documentation for real estate and other unique assets.

• Resolve complex account and asset issues, including matters involving real estate ownership, leasing, maintenance, valuation, sale, environmental risk, and fiduciary decision-making.

• Ensures that administrative reviews are accurate and complete per fiduciary group policies and procedures.

• Develop a network of Centers of Influence who can provide additional client referrals.

• Arrange client meetings to make introductions of internal partners for the purpose of discussing their needs and the benefits of our services and expand client relationships.

• Serve on, or head working groups and/or councils as appointed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree (e.g., JD or MBA) or professional licenses (e.g., CTFA, CFP, CPA) preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of trust administration, fiduciary real estate, unique asset management, commercial real estate, or related experience.

• Must possess strong relationship building skills including verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience working with compliance, auditors, and regulators regarding real estate and unique asset administration.

• Advanced working knowledge of fiduciary real estate administration, including valuation, property inspections, insurance, environmental risk, leasing, property management, acquisitions, dispositions, and vendor oversight; experience with closely held businesses and mineral, oil and gas interests is preferred.

• Operate effectively in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance.

• Desire a team environment, collaborating with experienced professionals from multiple disciplines to deliver high quality client service.

• Provide professional presence within professional and community organizations.

• Thorough working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with CRM tools and trust accounting systems.

• Position is initially posted in Chicago and may require physical presence for property inspections, court appearances, office meetings, client engagements, and transaction-related activities.

• Advanced knowledge of fiduciary, investment management, and estate planning strategies.

• Advanced presentation and relationship skills.

• Prudent, timely, and well-documented administration of fiduciary real estate and other unique assets

• Timely completion of real estate reviews, inspections, valuations, risk remediation, and required reporting

• Effective partnership with Trust Officers, internal stakeholders, clients, and external real estate professionals

• Strong audit, examination, compliance, and client service outcomes
