About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

We are looking for a high-energy, strategic, and detail-oriented Field Marketing Manager to join Tableau's Global Field Marketing organization. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales, customers, and industry strategy, translating business priorities into integrated marketing programs that build pipeline, accelerate opportunities, deepen customer engagement, and drive Tableau adoption.

This is not a "check-the-box" execution role. The Field Marketing Manager will serve as a strategic partner to Sales, developing and executing targeted marketing plans across priority industries and accounts while ensuring our programs are aligned to Tableau's evolving positioning around AI, agentic analytics, conversational analytics, and the broader data and analytics landscape.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a strategic plan, sitting in an account planning meeting with sales, orchestrating an executive event, managing program logistics, and using performance data to determine what to scale, optimize, or stop.

Core Responsibilities

1. Field Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with Field Marketing leadership and Sales leaders to develop and execute integrated field marketing plans aligned to regional, industry, pipeline, and revenue priorities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned industries, business priorities, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and Tableau's role in helping organizations become AI-ready and data-driven.
  • Partner with sales teams to identify priority accounts, whitespace opportunities, pipeline gaps, and strategic deals where marketing can influence progression.
  • Translate sales priorities into targeted marketing strategies across Tableau, Salesforce, third-party, and cross-cloud opportunities.
  • Participate in account and territory planning to ensure marketing is relevant to the opportunity, audience, and deal stage.
  • Serve as a trusted marketing advisor to sellers, helping them understand how to leverage marketing programs, content, events, executive engagement, and customer proof points to move opportunities forward.

2. Integrated Campaign & Program Execution

  • Develop and execute multi-channel programs designed to generate demand, accelerate the pipeline, increase product adoption, and engage strategic accounts.
  • Orchestrate a mix of owned, third-party, executive, virtual, experiential, and customer marketing programs based on business objectives.
  • Support industry-specific activations that bring Tableau's value proposition to life through relevant customer stories, thought leadership, product experiences, and use cases.
  • Coordinate with product marketing, digital, customer success, and other cross-functional teams to create cohesive experiences across the customer journey.
  • Identify opportunities to test new approaches, pilot emerging tactics, and scale programs that demonstrate measurable impact.

3. Account-Based & Pipeline Acceleration

  • Build targeted marketing plays around high-priority accounts and opportunities, aligning programs to account engagement, pipeline stage, and sales strategy.
  • Partner with sellers on strategic opportunities to determine where marketing can create a meaningful touchpoint-from executive engagement and events to customer references, targeted campaigns, and post-event follow-up.
  • Develop strategies to maximize the impact of major moments, including Dreamforce, Tableau Conference, industry events, executive programs, and regional activations.
  • Create intentional pre-, during-, and post-event strategies that turn event participation into measurable pipeline progression and deal acceleration.
  • Capture and share examples of how marketing influenced customer engagement, accelerated opportunities, or contributed to closed business.

4. Executive & Customer Engagement

  • Plan and execute high-touch experiences for C-suite and senior decision-makers, ensuring executive programs are tightly aligned to account strategy and business priorities.
  • Partner with Sales and executive stakeholders to identify the right customers, prospects, and business conversations for strategic engagement.
  • Develop experiences that move beyond traditional events and create meaningful opportunities for customers and prospects to engage with Tableau leadership, product experts, and peers.
  • Support customer storytelling, references, roundtables, dinners, advisory experiences, and other programs that strengthen relationships and build credibility.

5. Industry & Audience Activation

  • Develop a strong understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and priorities of assigned industries and personas.
  • Ensure Tableau messaging is translated into industry-relevant narratives and experiences that resonate with executives, business leaders, data and analytics professionals, and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner with industry and product marketing teams to activate relevant thought leadership, customer proof points, use cases, and product experiences in the field.
  • Identify trends and customer insights from the field and share them back with broader marketing and product teams.

6. Measurement, Optimization & ROI

  • Establish clear objectives and success measures for field programs, with a focus on pipeline creation, pipeline acceleration, account engagement, revenue influence, and customer impact.
  • Track program performance, attribution, engagement, and ROI; use data to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop post-program reporting and executive-ready readouts that clearly communicate results, learnings, and recommendations.
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline coverage, marketing contribution, and program performance across assigned markets.
  • Identify repeatable best practices and scale successful programs across regions and industries.

7. Operational Excellence

  • Own end-to-end execution of field programs, including project plans, timelines, budgets, vendors, contracts, logistics, communications, and stakeholder management.
  • Maintain operational rigor across marketing plans, program trackers, budgets, event calendars, and performance reporting.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high bar for quality and customer experience.
  • Ensure programs are executed on time, on budget, and in alignment with Tableau and Salesforce brand and operational standards.

8. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay curious about emerging trends in AI, analytics, data, customer engagement, and B2B marketing and identify opportunities to bring new ideas into the field.
  • Experiment with new marketing motions, experiences, and channels that can improve seller engagement and customer impact.
  • Look for ways to make field marketing more scalable and efficient through repeatable frameworks, technology, automation, and data.
  • Bring a test-and-learn mindset to the role: understand what worked, why it worked, and how to improve it.

What Success Looks Like:

Success in this role means becoming a trusted extension of the Sales organization and a strategic operator within Field Marketing.

You will:

  • Build strong relationships with Sales leaders and sellers.
  • Create marketing programs that are directly connected to business and pipeline priorities.
  • Increase engagement within priority accounts and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate measurable marketing contribution to pipeline and revenue.
  • Deliver high-quality executive, customer, and field experiences.
  • Bring actionable customer and market insights back to the broader organization.
  • Create scalable programs and best practices that can be replicated across markets.
  • Become known as someone who can think strategically, move quickly, execute flawlessly, and get things done.

What We're Looking For

  • 4-6+ years of experience in B2B, field, demand generation, event, or integrated marketing.
  • Experience partnering directly with Sales organizations and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline generation, account-based marketing, campaign strategy, and marketing measurement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously from strategy through execution.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into clear, actionable marketing strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset with an ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
  • Curiosity about AI, analytics, technology, and the evolving B2B buyer journey.
  • A bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
