Engineer - Repair Development / Wire Harness - Clovis, CA

About the Role

Niacc-Avitech Technologies, an FAA Part 145 repair facility specializing in aircraft component repair and overhaul, is seeking an Engineer - Repair Development / Wire Harness to bridge our technical and operational teams.

This is a unique dual-focus position combining technical engineering development (60%) with hands-on shop floor work (40%). You'll develop repair solutions for aircraft wiring harnesses and electrical components while working directly with technicians to implement and validate your designs.

What You'll Do

Engineering & Development:

• Research technical requirements from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, specifications, and regulatory standards
• Analyze complex technical data and synthesize it into clear, actionable work instructions for repair technicians
• Interpret wiring schematics, electrical diagrams, and engineering specifications; identify repair or manufacturing solutions
• Develop, test, and refine repair procedures, technical documentation, and engineering drawings
• Create technical documentation and drawings that translate your repair solutions into shop floor reality
• Investigate technical challenges with Production, Quality, and other departments; recommend process improvements

Hands-On Contribution:

• Troubleshoot, fabricate, repair, and test aircraft wiring harnesses and electrical components
• Apply wire harness design and manufacturing principles to develop practical, implementable repair solutions
• Validate new repair processes and work instructions directly with technicians on the shop floor
• Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities while meeting deadlines

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent technical education combined with 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Demonstrated experience with electrical wire harnesses, wiring systems, or aerospace electrical components
• Proficiency reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace, aviation component repair, or aircraft manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with FAA Part 145 repair facility operations and regulatory requirements
• Experience with MIL-SPEC or aerospace-grade wiring and electrical standards
• Prior hands-on experience with aircraft systems or components
