About The Role

Summary

This is an experienced professional role within Enterprise Risk Management and Banking that reports to the Financial Risk Manager. The Financial Risk Analyst leverages quantitative expertise, financial acumen, and data governance skills to support enterprise risk reporting, strategic initiatives, and risk analytics across the organization.

The position plays a central role in enterprise-wide risk oversight by integrating data-driven insights, monitoring risk thresholds, and advising senior leadership on risk posture, emerging risks, and macroeconomic trends. The individual in this role serves as the primary preparer and key analyst of the Bank's quarterly Risk Appetite Statement, Peer Bank Performance Reports, Department KRI/KPI Reports, Economic Indicator Report, Emerging Risk Report, and other critical risk analytics that support strategic decision-making.

This position regularly provides briefings and risk analyses to leadership and management oversight committees. The role also supports the governance, framework development, and continuous enhancement of the Bank's enterprise risk reporting program.

The Financial Risk Analyst will support enhancements to risk reporting processes, data quality, analytics, business intelligence tools, and reporting automation. A successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to develop a broad understanding of business lines and functions throughout the Bank.

This is a Corporate position which may be located in an available bank division across our nine-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, TX, UT, WA, or WY. Click here to learn more about our bank divisions.

The mid-rate pay for this position is $109,100 + / per year (calculated for Kalispell, MT). All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

WA Applicants ONLY:

Spokane, WA range $96,500 to $144,700 a year. Wenatchee, WA range $91,900 to $137,800 a year.

Description

  • Support the development, enhancement, and governance of the Bank's suite of Enterprise Risk Management reports, including the Board-approved Risk Appetite Statement. This requires advanced knowledge of data governance, business intelligence methodologies, banking industry trends, and enterprise-wide financial performance monitoring. Provide Executive and Board-level briefings and offer effective challenge to management to improve performance and manage risk.
  • Provide effective challenge and second line of defense oversight over various business lines to ensure proper identification, measurement, monitoring, and mitigation of risk.
  • Support risk reporting projects and strategic initiatives, including enhancements to reporting processes, data quality, analytics, documentation, dashboard development, and automation. Partner with business lines and risk owners to improve the accuracy, efficiency, consistency, and usefulness of enterprise risk information.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete assigned training and achieve passing scores by required due dates.

Additional Requirements

Travel

Up to 10% travel required: (e.g. 2 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
