Tenure Track Faculty, Management Information Systems

Position Summary:

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at the Villanova School of Business is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in Management Information Systems (MIS) to begin in Fall 2027 at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

This faculty member will report to the Chair of the Accounting and Information Systems Department and is expected to (1) teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence as well as other MIS areas, (2) publish in top MIS journals, (3) perform service, and (4) contribute to a collegial academic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach MIS courses in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Competitive teaching loads are offered based on research output.
• Publish in any area of MIS primarily targeting top peer-reviewed academic journals listed on the Villanova School of Business journal list.
• Perform service commensurate with faculty rank.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in IS or MIS or a closely related field
• Potential to publish in top peer-reviewed academic MIS journals
• For candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor level:
  • Have an established record of peer-reviewed publications in top MIS journals
  • Evidence of multi-year teaching with strong evaluations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated track record of high-quality teaching
• Evidence of high-quality scholarly research
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues
• Dissertation on an aspect of Artificial Intelligence
• Potential to teach courses in Artificial Intelligence
• For candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor level:
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Evidence of teaching experience in AI-related courses
  • An editorial role or a service/leadership role within the profession
  • Industry experience
