DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of pharmacy leadership, the Weight Management Pharmacist provides specialized clinical and consultative pharmacy support for patients receiving pharmacologic treatment for obesity and weight-related conditions. Working collaboratively with provider teams in outpatient areas, this pharmacist supports initiation, optimization, and ongoing management of weight loss medications; conducts patient outreach to promote adherence and medication safety; resolves medication access barriers; and serves as a pharmacy subject matter expert for weight management therapies. Pharmacists in this position will also precept pharmacy students and residents, provide educational support to clinical teams, and support quality improvement initiatives at the discretion of their supervisor and department leadership. Other roles may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) or equivalent training.

  • Registered Pharmacist in the State of California.

  • Incumbents can meet the minimum experience qualifications for this position in 1 of 3 ways:1) possesses a PGY 2 or 2) possesses a PGY 1 plus 1 year of pharmacist experience, or 3) possesses 4 years of pharmacist experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Board certification in a pharmacy specialty area.

  • Direct experience in management of patients with obesity.

  • Significant Epic EHR experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $200,010 - $238,972 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $95.79 - $114.45

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
