Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Advancement Systems Programmer Analyst (Entry, Intermediate, Expert, Principal, or Master level) serves as a technical subject matter expert supporting the Division of University Advancement's constituent relationship management (CRM) system and related third-party applications. This position is responsible for maintaining system integrity, managing data integrations, developing reports and analytics, and implementing technology solutions that support advancement operations and strategic initiatives. The role collaborates with Advancement staff, Information Technology, and external partners to optimize business processes, ensure data accuracy, and enhance system functionality. Through technical expertise in CRM administration, reporting, and data management, the position supports fundraising, constituent engagement, and university campaign objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

CRM Administration and System Support - 35%

* Maintains CRM system integrity through regular audits, monitoring, configuration management, and ongoing system maintenance.

* Troubleshoots and resolves CRM-related technical issues, providing direct support and guidance to end users.

* Develops, maintains, and documents CRM workflows, automations, customizations, and system configurations.

* Implements new CRM features, enhancements, and process improvements to increase system functionality and efficiency.

* Proactively monitors system performance, identifies issues, and implements solutions to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Data Integration, Reporting, and Analytics - 35%

* Manages integrations between the CRM and third-party systems to ensure accurate and efficient data exchange.

* Performs data maintenance, validation, cleansing, and monitoring activities to support data integrity and operational effectiveness.

* Develops, maintains, and enhances reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using SQL, Power BI, CRM Advance, and related tools.

* Creates and supports self-service reporting solutions that enable users to access routine operational and strategic information.

* Produces ad hoc reports and analyses to support decision-making, performance measurement, and organizational planning.

Strategic Technology Solutions and Project Management - 30%

* Serves as project lead for system enhancement and data integration initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and meet business requirements.

* Collaborates with Advancement staff, campus partners, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements.

* Develops technology solutions that support fundraising, constituent engagement, and advancement operational objectives.

* Provides technical expertise and recommendations regarding CRM functionality, reporting strategies, and business process optimization.

* Develops annual goals, key performance metrics, and business plans aligned with divisional priorities and strategic initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with extensive computer usage and frequent interaction with Advancement staff, university stakeholders, and technology partners. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, reviewing technical information, developing reports, and analyzing data. Responsibilities involve managing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and responsiveness to operational needs. The position requires sustained analytical thinking, technical problem-solving, and collaboration across functional areas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not typically have direct supervisory responsibility. May provide technical leadership, project coordination, training, and guidance to users and stakeholders regarding CRM systems, reporting tools, and related business processes.

Shift

M-F; 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

* 4+ years of work experience (beyond degree or equivalent)

* 3+ years of experience managing CRM systems.

* Experience generating complex reports, dashboards, and handling ad hoc data requests.

* Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and manage system integrations.

* Documenting code and processes for validation and reproducibility

Skills

* Advanced knowledge of CRM systems, data integrity practices, and database management.

* Expertise in SQL and data visualization through reports and dashboards

* Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.

* Experience configuring or reporting in Ellucian CRM Advance

* Familiarity with fundraising, reporting, and data security standards as provided within CASE, AFP, Apra and AASP guidelines.

* Experience with data integrations and process automation.

* Experience building Power BI reports.

$58,573-$83,304
