Oct 14, 2026
Overview

Placement Type:

Temporary

Salary:

$40-45 Hourly

Start Date:

Nov 2, 2026

Duration:

Open ended

Our client, a leading global automaker, is building out its robotics and AI program, and they need a hands-on Teleoperations Technician to keep their data collection running overnight. You'll prepare the setup, run tasks through a teleoperations interface, and keep the robot operating safely and reliably through every session. This position is overnight, so you will be required to work a normal 8 hour day between the hours of 7PM-8AM Pacific Time.

This is an execution role. Careful system checks, consistent use of standard procedures, and sharp attention to data quality are what make someone great at it.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect the camera system before each session, including angle, field of view, physical connections, and availability
  • Verify that the main teleoperations system and connected equipment are ready to run
  • Use documented Linux commands to launch the teleoperations data collection software
  • Start tasks through the interface and monitor the robot as it works
  • Reset scenes, reposition objects, and rerun pick-and-place and similar tasks as needed
  • Watch for unexpected robot behavior, system errors, or camera problems that could affect safety or data quality
  • Use a Fanuc teach pendant to move the robot to a safe, recoverable position and reset the task
  • Log task outcomes, failures, resets, and detailed observations accurately and consistently
  • Escalate recurring hardware, software, connectivity, or safety issues to the right engineering or operations team
  • Follow all site safety requirements, procedures, and shift handoff expectations

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with teleoperations, robotics operations, robot-assisted data collection, industrial automation, or a closely related field
  • Experience with camera-based systems and checking hardware connections and system readiness before operation
  • Comfort using the Linux command line and following documented startup and recovery procedures
  • Ability to operate technical software carefully and consistently while monitoring a physical robot
  • Strong safety awareness
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting, and the focus to stay sharp during repetitive tasks
  • Clear communication with engineers, operators, and shift partners during handoffs and escalations

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Fanuc robots and the Fanuc teach pendant
  • Experience with pick-and-place or other robotic manipulation tasks
  • Familiarity with Docker containers and services
  • Familiarity with robot recovery, scene reset, or task replay workflows
  • Background in a robotics lab, manufacturing plant, test facility, or other safety-sensitive technical setting

Work Environment

You'll work on site around robotic equipment, cameras, computing systems, and data collection hardware. Sustained attention, procedural discipline, and safe interaction with robots are part of the job every shift.
