JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.

Position Summary: The Fleet Management Technician provides hands-on fleet and operational support with the primary goal of keeping field personnel productive and reducing lost billable time associated with vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, cleaning, breakdowns, deliveries, and other support activities.

This position coordinates and performs routine fleet activities that might otherwise require field or technical personnel to leave billable project work. Responsibilities include transporting vehicles for service, coordinating repairs, monitoring preventive maintenance, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, relocating vehicles, addressing routine fleet issues, and maintaining fleet documentation.

Fleet support may represent only a portion of the employee's workload. When fleet-related needs do not require full-time attention, the employee will be expected to perform other operational, logistical, administrative, or project-support duties as assigned by the local supervisor or project management. These duties may include, but are not limited to, delivering supplies, materials, equipment, documents, or other items to field crews and project locations.

The overall objective of the position is to handle necessary support activities efficiently so field and technical personnel can remain focused on productive, billable project work.

Reporting Structure

  • The Fleet Management Technician reports directly to the local supervisor for day-to-day management, scheduling, workload, and administrative oversight.
  • The Fleet Manager provides functional leadership for the fleet program, including fleet priorities, standards, procedures, and overall program direction.
  • The employee may also receive operational and project-support assignments from appropriate project management personnel based on workload and business needs.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and relevant fleet, automotive, mechanical, logistical, or operational experience. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.
