Essential Job Duties

Develop (BIM) Building Information Modeling for Facility Management
- Support the development and implementation of a full lifecycle Building Information Modeling strategy through the development of standards, automated workflows, data integrations and stakeholder management.
- Responsible for understanding the needs of the Port in one or more key facility management areas such as space management, emergency management, airport operations, asset management, customer experience, maintenance, or other related disciplines and developing Building Information Modeling workflows and models to support efficiency improvements.
- Consult with users and customers to understand their facility data needs, and implement Building Information Modeling workflows to increase efficiency and support facility management objectives.
- Assist in developing presentation material to communicate with Port leadership about compelling use cases, metrics of success, potential risks and barriers, and budget and resource needs for a successful Building Information Modeling program
Capital Project BIM Implementation
- Apply professional judgement and experience to understand the broader business context for the implementation of Building Information Modeling on capital projects and requests for technical support and the associated implications for decisions made.
- Prepare resource cost estimates for Building Information Modeling services and develop guidelines to determine which projects will benefit from utilizing Building Information Modeling .
- Understand stakeholder needs and ensure quality and timeliness of services provided both internally and from consultant Building Information Modeling teams.
- Prepare resource cost estimates for Building Information Modeling services and develop guidelines to determine which projects will benefit from utilizing Building Information Modeling .
- Direct the work of internal and external Building Information Modeling modelers, drafters and coordinators making resource allocation decisions and recommendations to support project and operational goals.
- Serve as a technical resource on Building Information Modeling issues of unusual complexity or uniqueness
- Building Information Modeling Subject Matter Expert
- Determine requirements and assesses alternative data models for the future design of data sets then leads the design, testing, modification, and implementation of new data models.
- Provide training and mentoring to other staff members in the following Building Information Modeling related areas: planning, project design, project specification preparation, project execution planning, contract management, quality control, and/or work program implementation.
- Take a lead role in developing metrics associated with the implementation of Business Information Management standards and best practices.
- Track key performance indicators, calculate return on investment and develop graphics and presentations to communicate successes and opportunities to a wide variety of stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
-
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field OR, the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience (required).
- At least four (4) years' experience as a Building Information Modeling specialist OR, the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience (required).
Demonstrated Knowledge:
- Building Information Modeling
- Asset/space management principles and associated standards (ISOs, CoBIE, Uniformat, BOMA, Fire Life Safety).
- Emerging tools and technologies and their application to engineering projects and related work.
- Best practices in project/program Building Information Modeling implementation.
- Contract language and standards creation/development as related to Building Information Modeling, Revit modeling, family creation, template files, standard libraries, parameter files, and asset data development.
- National and International Building Information Modeling Standards.
Demonstrated Skills:
- Autodesk products including Revit, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Dynamo, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
- Written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact at multiple levels within an organization
- Process design, analysis, and improvement.
- Strategic planning and thinking
- Development and reporting of Building Information Modeling performance metrics.
- Development and implementation of Building Information Modeling standards and processes at an enterprise or organizational level
- Act as a change agent with all levels of management and staff within the organization.
- Identify barriers to success and propose solutions

Supplemental and Selection Information

SELECTION PROCESS: 1. A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of February 10, 2025.
2. A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.
3. Our goal is to schedule virtual first round of interviews with candidates who successfully passed the SME evaluation as soon as possible.

In this position, you'll have an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule typically working a few days in office (at the PDX airport) with the remainder working remote. When you're in the office, you'll be in a modern, open building with an amazing view of Mt. Hood and inbound and outbound flights right outside our windows!
