Job Summary:

The Purchasing/Construction Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing procurement activities related to construction projects. This role involves sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all procurement processes comply with company policies and industry standards. The analyst will also provide detailed cost analysis, budget tracking, and reporting to support efficient project execution and financial management.

Key Responsibilities: Procurement:
  1. Material Sourcing and Purchasing:

    • Identify and source construction materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
    • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
    • Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  2. Vendor Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
    • Conduct regular reviews of supplier agreements to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Purchase Orders and Documentation:

    • Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of all procurement transactions and agreements.
    • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Construction Analysis:
  1. Cost Analysis and Budget Management:

    • Conduct detailed cost analysis and create budget forecasts for construction projects.
    • Monitor project budgets and track expenses to ensure adherence to financial plans.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to optimize expenditures.
  2. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect and analyze data related to construction project performance, costs, and timelines.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and trends.
    • Utilize data to provide actionable recommendations for project improvements and efficiencies.
  3. Market Research and Trends:

    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
    • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, and methods that can enhance project outcomes.
    • Provide insights on market dynamics and their potential impact on procurement strategies.
Project Coordination:
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
    • Coordinate procurement activities to align with project schedules and milestones.
    • Facilitate effective communication between the procurement team and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
