The NP functions interdependently by implementing the appropriate "standardized procedures" (SP). By using the SPs the NP can change the treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). Provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients, provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered.

Range: $84.82- $121.14/hourly

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN/DNP with a FNP Specialty - required.
  • Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-required
  • State of California NP, National Board Certification -required
  • Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care -required
  • Demonstrated work experience of over 2 years in management of outpatient medical problems- required
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and training clinic personnel-required
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people of various educational, social, cultural and economic backgrounds-required
  • Leadership skills to represent project and issues and to initiate problem solving-required
  • Bilingual Spanish/ English communication skills-preferred
  • Working knowledge of other health, mental health and social services agencies in the area-preferred
  • Ability to utilize Excel, word, and other software programs-required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnel-required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required
  • Ability to set priorities-required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed, and grammatically correct correspondence-required
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
