Responsibilities include developing innovative design concepts and ideas for new products, product improvements, manufacturing methods, and test methods, and creating detailed designs as necessary. This role involves conducting engineering concept and feasibility tasks, design, and development work on assigned projects, including prototyping, testing, and evaluation.

The Mechanical Engineer is an integral member of the product development team responsible for mechanical design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of electro-mechanical medical devices.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer:


  • Complete Mechanical Engineering design tasks for different parts of the C2 CryoAblation System. Engineering design tasks also include designing tooling and fixtures for test purposes or to support manufacturing.
  • Create Test Protocols, Run Tests and Write Test Reports per Pentax Medical design control requirements.
  • Analyze design issues, including those arising from complaints and complete investigations identifying root causes and writing investigation reports.
  • Assemble prototypes for initial R&D and design verification prototypes.
  • Use SolidWorks or other CAD tools for design and analysis for various projects.
  • Complete thorough observations, document technical details, and create engineering reports accurately.
  • Assist Senior C2 Engineers in other test and documentation activities.
  • Provide support on various R&D projects as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications of the Mechanical Engineer:


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience creating simple mechanical designs for commercial products or for tooling and fixtures.
  • Experience writing test protocols, running tests and reports.
  • Experience assembling mechanical designs across multiple projects.
  • Lab and project experience testing components, sub-assemblies and designs.
  • Knowledge of utilizing different systems including CAD, Solidworks, 3D Printing, & etc.
  • Strong technical analysis skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience with handling very sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to travel as necessary
