Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The key role of the PT Specialist III, Admissions position is to consistently assist students with completing all steps of the admissions process so that students are able to register for classes. Each step plays a critical role in ensuring that students are "college ready" and are set up to be successful. Overall, the position is an important first point of contact for students to feel welcomed, informed and oriented to campus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist students with completing the admissions application and completing the new student checklist: vaccination requirement/waiver form, placement testing, new student orientation and connecting students with academic advisors
  2. Evaluate transcripts and ACT/SAT scores for college readiness and explaining the meaning of college readiness
  3. Provide a high level of advice to students in terms of explaining the degree/program types and options that LSCS offers as well as disseminating information to students about all of the services that are available on campus
  4. Assist team members in coordinating outreach programs and events both on and off campus such as; Preview Days, Campus Tours and Enrollment Week Campaigns
  5. Assist team members with coordinating the New Student Orientation program in their absence or in the event that extra support is needed
  6. May determine residency requirements
  7. Assist with phone calls, emails and LiveChat
  8. Assist with testing vouchers and testing processes
  9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $15.14.
