Description

Provide administrative and filing support for staff in Community Oncology Practice. Major duties include: filing medical records requests; uploading medical records to the electronic medical record system and maintaining accurate filing systems; RightFax management; sorting and distributing mail; transporting clinical laboratory samples between clinic suites. Also responsible for general errands, duplication services, and back-up administrative support.

Salary range: $22.85/hr - $32.03/hr

Qualifications

Required:



  • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information.
  • Ability to accept direction from supervisors.
  • Skill in reading standard English text to follow instructions, memos, and understand physician schedules and requests.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty and patients.
  • Skill in setting priorities, following through with assigned tasks and adhering to deadlines.
  • Skill and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skill to screen calls from and convey information to patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-faceted, high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Able to be resourceful, and to prioritize heavy workloads with organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated follow-up skills.
  • Skill in organizing and maintaining functional filing systems.
  • Strong understanding of alphabetical and numerical filing systems.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry loads up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Preferred:



  • Demonstrated current work experience in a high patient volume setting.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to operate a PC and CareConnect, including proficiency in e-mail.
