Job Description

PAY & SCHEDULES

Driver Pay

Drivers average $2,000 per week, depending on experience, job type, schedule and the work completed.

Average annual earnings:

  • First-year drivers: Average $90,000 for drivers with fewer than 200,000 verifiable regional/OTR miles
  • Experienced drivers: $104,000+ average
  • Top drivers have the opportunity to earn more

Actual earnings vary based on experience, schedule, route, activity, and business needs.

How Pay Works

DTI uses activity-based pay, which means what you earn is tied to the work you complete throughout your route. Instead of one flat rate, your total pay is made up of different driving and delivery activities.

Depending on your route and job, your pay may include:

  • Mileage pay (CPM): Pay for the miles you drive
  • Stop pay: Pay for qualifying stops on your route
  • Pickup pay: Pay for qualifying product pickups
  • Delivery pay: $0.16 per case plus $0.37 per line item delivered
  • Drop-and-hook pay: Pay for qualifying trailer drop-and-hook activities
  • And more!

The exact mix of paid activities will depend on your route, schedule, location, and business needs.

Schedule Options

We know a driving job has to work for your life off the road too. That's why DTI offers several schedule options with regular home time built in.

  • 6x3: 6 days on, 3 days off
  • Traditional: About 5.5 days on the road each week (highest paying option)
  • Teams

All schedule options are designed to get drivers home at least weekly. We work hard to keep schedules as consistent and predictable as possible so you have a better idea of what your time on and off the road will look like. Specific schedules and home time will vary by location and business needs.
