Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Read and understand production schedules and communicate changes. If there are Packaging supply or Raw Material issues, know whom to contact and be able to suggest alternatives.
  • Understand equipment and process requirements for changeovers.
  • Develop an understanding for the time requirements of various changeovers and work with Supervisor and Line crews to achieve consistent and efficient changeovers following guidelines set forth by the Quality Department. Monitor product quality to assure that products are produced and maintained in standard.
  • Become familiar with how various ingredients effect our product analytical results.
  • Report any deviations in policy or procedure to Department Supervisor. This is inclusive of QCMS, GMP, Safety and all other Plant and Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist with start-ups and changeovers.
  • Work with scheduler/supervisor to communicate production delays due to production problems
  • Assist the Safety Representatives in maintaining a safe work environment
  • This person has the responsibility to operate under the Kraft Heinz Safety Values.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and willingness to cross-train and function in other departments as needed.
  • Assist in the tracking of new employee training and orientation within the Department.
  • Monitor cleaning procedures and housekeeping issues. Will be familiar with chemicals in use within the Department and have knowledge of general Sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the Departments Sanitation programs and be able to coordinate the timely completion of these tasks.
  • Understand line staffing requirements, and be able to schedule the Departments personnel, vacations and temporary employees.
  • Conduct Business Room Meetings as needed.
  • Monitor all Line quality checks. This includes Packers, Labelers, Fillers and any other checks that are done through the shift. Know the Code date policy and be able to identify any issues.
  • Possess computer skills and work with different applications: Zarpac, MATRIX, Excel, Word, LIS, Weight Control, ECC and LPR.
  • Participate in Departmental improvement activities
  • Investigate potential extraneous and product hold issues and document as necessary.
  • Understand and adhere to KQS, HACCP, QCMS, PCR, and QCDSM.
  • Will review daily all PCR and CCP documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure food safety when needed.
  • Must certify on all departmental positions (learn to perform all departmental job functions and operate all departmental equipment) and provide relief and/or coverage as needed. This entails meeting the physical requirements of each position.
  • Must be team oriented, self motivated, posses leadership skills and be able to work well with Peers.
  • Adheres to all QRMP processes in accordance with Garland QRMP accountability documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

SAFETY

  • Maintain safety and quality awareness of team around line or process machinery.
  • Maintain a clean work area, adhere to all GMP's and safety policies such as LO/TO and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Responsible for compliance with the safety policy and accident prevention and compliance programs.
  • Responsible for reviewing work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and for reporting hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Computer experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and group situations. Must be able to read and interpret op-codes, instructions, forecasts and other work-related documents. Must write clearly and legibly.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and rates. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to real world situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

Computer literacy, teambuilding, multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem assessment/ troubleshooting, results driven, ability to teach others, initiative, quality orientation/attention to detail, safety awareness, teamwork/collaboration, adaptability.
