JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State University Northeast Center of Excellence for Pavement Technology (NECEPT) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to assist with supervision of research projects related to pavement materials. NECEPT is a center under the Larson Transportation Institute, within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Penn State's College of Engineering.NECEPT conducts pavement materials research, as well as the technician certification programs and related training courses for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, in the areas of asphalt and concrete pavements and aggregates. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Requirements and Qualifications: The Postdoctoral Scholar must have PhD in Civil Engineering, with focus on asphalt pavement materials research. In addition, the successful candidate must have demonstrated sufficient knowledge and experience with performance testing, sustainability, and recycling through well-established journal publications. The Postdoctoral Scholar must have a strong knowledge of asphalt mixtures, asphalt binders, and characterization techniques and testing of pavement materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills are also required. Additional Information: This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire.
