 Position Summary:

 Yeshiva University seeks a licensed individual for a Multi-Trade Mechanic position. The Multi Trade Mechanic performs general construction and maintenance projects. This person must be able to work in multiple locations within the NYC metro area and be able to accommodate varying work shifts. Work Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 8 am-5 pm, Thursday 8 am-1:30 pm

 Position Responsibilities:

 Install, repair, and/or maintain wooden structures such as partitions, furniture, equipment, and other wooded articlesInstall wallboards, floor and ceiling tile, linoleum, tile, and carpets, using hand tools, power tools, and carpenter's toolsInstall doors and hardwareRepair window frames and sashes, cut and replace window glassInstall/repair window shades, blinds, and rodsFabricate and install shelves and countertopsInstall cabinets and suspended ceilingsElectrical and PlumbingPerform minor electrical workReplace switches, outlets, and light fixturesReplace sinks and faucetsPerform other plumbing repairs as neededPaintingPrepare areas for paintingFrame walls, tape, plaster, and skim coatPaint buildings and other structures using brushes, rollers, or spray gunMasonryMix and pour concrete, lay bricks, cement blocks, ceramic tileApply grout, point brickworkApply caulking compound to seal cracks in walls and joints, using mason/bricklayers' toolsPerform solderingErect scaffolds and sets up laddersKeep work areas neat and cleanPerform other related duties as assigned

 Experience & Educational Background:

 High School Diploma5 years of experience in one or more building trades is requiredMust possess at least one trade license (electrical, plumbing, or equivalent)A valid state driver's license is preferred

 Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessaryMust possess a working knowledge of hand and power toolsMust adhere to operational safety rules and regulations as deemed by the UniversityMust be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills and ability to interact with building/office occupants effectivelyMay be required to work from blueprintsMust be able to work in multiple locations within the NYC metro area and be able to accommodate varying work shiftsRespirator Fit Testing may be required

 Grade 10 1199 New Hire rate: $31.56 and 1199 One Year of Service rate: $32.20
