Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Our facilities are capable of receiving, storing, processing and dispatching cargo, so we can build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process.Our integrated solutions allow us to be prepared for supply chain risks, so we can plan distribution to better achieve lead time and goals despite unexpected conditions. The maintenance supervisor oversees a specific location and reports into the Director of Maintenance and Support. The position manages a team of field technicians. The MHE group takes care of all Maersk facilities in the region for maintenance, support and installation of Material Handling and Automation Equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of technicians. There are currently approximately 30 field technicians in the region that is divided into 1st and 2nd shift. Some facilities have 3rd shift.

  • Responsible for team of Regional Field Service Technicians, that maintain and support the various Maersk Warehouse & Distribution Facilities 24x7.

  • Responsible for maintaining stock levels and auditing spare parts holding in each facility.

  • Deliver maintenance and response services that provides 99.9% of uptime.

  • Hiring, developing, coaching, and mentoring of field technicians.

  • Responsible for developing a daily, weekly, quarterly preventative maintenance plan for each Facility in the Region.

  • Responsible for establishing maintenance procedures, and general Support best practices for each facility.

  • Generate weekly Regional reports and attend MHE management meetings.

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with Maersk Operations leaders in the Region.

  • Travel within the Region up to 30% of the time.

We are looking for:

  • Clear understanding of MHE technologies, including conveyors, sortation equipment, merges and related automation equipment.

  • A manager who can contribute new ideas and provide solutions in support of operations.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to colleagues

  • Ability to plan, organize and execute daily activities of the team methodically

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous 24x7 environment, including over holidays and weekends.

  • Willingness to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure equipment uptime

  • Results-oriented, makes things happen, ability to move fast, innovate and simplify

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Well organized manager with excellent people skills.

  • Strong technical background in HME or Automation. The function includes maintaining conveyor and sortation equipment, it excludes fork trucks.

Education and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in Engineering Maintenance of conveyor or sortation systems, or related automation equipment.

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience managing teams, including hiring and developing of staff.

  • Relevant knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and parts inventory management

  • Relevant knowledge and working experience with one or more of Hytrol, TGW, Wynright, FMH, Cognex, Intelligrated, Dematic or similar brand name equipment.

  • Knowledge or previous working experience with leading WCS or WES systems is advantageous.

  • Knowledge or previous working experience with electrical systems is advantageous.

Pay Range:

$78,000 - $90,000 annually*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
