Description
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD!!! Description: Manages, performs, and schedules inspections, maintenance, and adjustments of assigned aircrew flight equipment (AFE), aircraft interiors, associated supplies, and inventory assets. Inspects, maintains, packs, and adjusts AFE such as flight helmets, oxygen masks, flotation devices, survival kits, helmet-mounted devices, aircrew night vision and other ocular systems, aircrew eye and respiratory protective equipment, and other types of AFE. Repairs fabric and rubber components, including protective clothing, thermal radiation barriers, flotation equipment, and various parachutes. Evaluates and inspects fabric, rubber equipment, and parachutes to determine the feasibility of repair or replacement. Evaluates work orders for the fabrication of authorized items. Installs and removes aircraft-installed AFE. Uses various types of test equipment such as altimeters, oxygen testers, leakage testers, radio testers, and other types of testers to conduct reliability testing on AFE. Maintains inspection and accountability documentation on AFE issued to aircrews or prepositioned on aircraft. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Also requires a graduate of Navy Parachute Rigger or an equivalent Air Force or Army Military Occupational Specialist (MOS) course for ALSS system maintenance. Experience: Minimum of four (4) years experience with related aircraft/systems consistent with PWS requirements and the position description. A&P License/FAA Certification preferred. For ALSS maintenance, activities supported by Contractor maintenance shall use only qualified, certified personnel to perform maintenance on ALSS/egress system maintenance.
