Job Description

The Senior Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuity of legacy applications while assisting in building a strategic vision for the future of a federal agency. As the technical lead, the Senior Solutions Architect will provide continuous institutional knowledge throughout the duration of the contract and lead other developers in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) responsibilities. This role requires a deep understanding of application design, development, and analysis, along with strong leadership and communication skills. The position is a hybrid role with 2-3 days of onsite work required weekly.

Responsibilities:

    Lead the design and development of solutions, ensuring they align with agency's strategic vision and technical requirements.
  • Provide continuous institutional knowledge and guidance on legacy applications, ensuring their effective operation and integration with new systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of software, hardware, and technology services.
  • Develop and maintain the technical architecture for the project, ensuring alignment with client's enterprise standards.
  • Architect and implement a data model adhering to industry best practices for flexible integration of new data types and efficiencies.
  • Lead the strategic planning for cloud deployment considerations.
  • Lead, guide, mentor, and influence a team in design and architectural discussions.
  • Develop and present working prototypes to stakeholders.
  • Integrate COTS/GOTS software and design/document common components within a service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Oversee and direct development and O&M activities, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Support security assessments (A&A) for new solutions.
  • Ensure Section 508 compliance for all legacy applications.
  • Apply application design, development, and analysis techniques to create robust and scalable solutions.
  • Ensure that solutions are designed to meet both current and future needs of the organization.
  • Develop and review technical proposals and ensure that solutions are feasible and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Support client personnel during system deployment, including training and creating deployment scripts.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with preferred study in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Math, Statistics, Operations Research, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology, with a proven track record in application design, development, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to create system diagrams for review by both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong ability to interact with employees, management, and vendors at all levels.
  • Demonstrated skill in taking initiative, showing sound judgment, and making the decision
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in leading, guiding, mentoring, and influencing design and architectural discussions.
  • Possess technical knowledge based on industry experience as well as technical trends, and skilled in one or more technical domains
  • Ability to propose and assess solutions for moderate to complex technical challenges.

  • Previous Federal Consulting Experience
