Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 15 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets.We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters.Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-nonferrous and other exotic alloys.

Job Purpose:

The CNC Programmer plans numerical control program to control contour-path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools: Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:




  • Programming new jobs per Planning & Engineering procedure.



  • Verifying programs with tool path verification programs to minimize programming errors.



  • Updating existing jobs programs to incorporate process improvements.



  • Working with Manufacturing Engineering to develop Part Methods to minimize changes and shorten lead times thru production.



  • Working with Engineering & Customer to resolve drawing issues & manufacturing problems.



  • Supporting the manufacturing floor to minimize down time, solve problems and optimize cycle times.



  • Working with machinists to solve manufacturing problems.



  • Evaluating and solving problems on the production floor.




Education and Experience:




  • High School or Engineering certificate from a college or trade school preferred.



  • 5 years experience in CNC programming using Mastercam and Pro-E/Unigraphics NX may be considered.



  • Experience programming turn/mill centers and 5 axis programming is highly desirable.



  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of machines and equipment required to fabricate parts from simple to complex..



  • Computer skills including CAD/CAM knowledge and experience.



  • Ability to product Customer macro programming as required.



  • Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain machines and tools.



  • Ability to recognize and address problems in the production process.



  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal.



  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.



  • Demonstrated knowledge of fixture design using Solidworks, or a similar CAD system.



  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and create detailed setup sheets for production.



  • Strong mathematical skills.



  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.



  • Organizational, planning and problem solving skills.



  • Qualified candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
