About the Role

GHT is seeking a bright and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited college or university, with a minimum of 0 - 2 years of experience in HVAC design. Candidates are encouraged to take the Engineer in Training exam. They are also encouraged to be active members or attend general meetings of technical societies related to their field of competency (ASHRAE, IES, ASPE, NSPE, etc.). We are interested in candidates who plan to actively pursue a P.E. License.

Candidate must possess the following skills, traits, and credentials:



  • Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design theory and a willingness to learn practical aspects of commercial mechanical systems design including air conditioning, ductwork, design piping, heating design, ventilation, equipment selections, and a working knowledge of building, mechanical, fire, plumbing and energy codes
  • Be motivated to excel, able to work both independently and in a team setting and capable of organizing personal workflow.
  • Be able to reflect a commitment to client satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Possess good visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with AUTOCAD (recent releases) is also a must. Familiarity with Revit modeling is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. GHT participates in E-Verify.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug test. Certain projects may have additional requirements.
  • Able to travel to job sites and conduct site visits, including carrying equipment/materials; climbing, sitting, standing, walking, balancing.
