UNIT: Tacoma Corps

POSITION TITLE: Giving Tree/Gift Wrap Assistant

REPORTS TO: Business Operations Manager

STATUS: Seasonal, Full time ( November 1, 2024 - December 24, 2024)

PAY: $16.28/Hour

SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Giving Tree/Gift Wrap coordinates the operations that take place at the local mall for the holiday season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Helps set up Giving Tree and Gift-Wrapping stations
* Provides tags and ensures they are fully stocked at all times.
* Recruits and coordinates and schedules Giving Tree/Gift Wrap volunteers.
* Maintain volunteer hours log daily.
* Reports monthly volunteer hours to Business Operations Manager by first business day of following month
* Assists with space cleanup at end of season.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
* Ability to quickly learn and apply new information/skills
* Sensitivity to and understanding of the comprehensive mission of The Salvation Army
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to work in a challenging environment and maintain poise under pressure
* Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
* Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check
* Must have current Washington State Driver's license

SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:
* Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheet
* Microsoft Outlook
* Good Docs
* Square Terminal

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
* Ability to operate telephone
* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
* Ability to operate a motor vehicle
* Ability to sweep, mop and vacuum floors daily.
