This role is a part of the Refurbishment Test Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on maintenance of the New Glenn GS1.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Vehicle Refurbishment engineers, you will develop, manage, and execute test plans and procedures for the refurbishment of the NG GS1 fluid systems. You will conduct specific refurbishment tests according to vehicle requirements, assist in work center setup, order necessary tools/equipment, and resolve non-conformances for successful re-flights. On this team, you will have the ability to impact the industry by shaping New Glenn's reusability operating plan. This role will require you to interact with the vehicle to proactively eliminate barriers and address unforeseen technical problems. This role is for individuals who are innovative, analytical, proactive, and dedicated to finding solutions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Play a key role in the evolution of the New Glenn vehicle systems by evaluating current fluids designs and architectures to support high cadence refurbishment operations.
  • Provide shipside support during test, inspection, and work execution of the maintenance of GS1's fluids systems.
  • Author, release and maintain work instructions.
  • Coordinate with New Glenn manufacturing to allow shared common resources and procedures to support refurbishment operations.
  • Collaborate with New Glenn fluids design engineers in the creation of refurbishment requirements.
  • Define and manage the support material, equipment, and personnel resources needed for successfully planning and driving fluids refurbishment activities.
  • Lead and facilitate root cause and corrective action investigations related to product reliability.
  • Enforce safety policies during testing and refurbishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. Degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or related field
  • 5+ Years Experience operating or around flight vehicle systems
  • 5+ Years Experience supporting test teams as a Vehicle system operator, Test Conductor, Test Engineer, or Console Operator
  • Background in space vehicle testing, fluids support equipment & fluids ground systems development
  • Experience with developing, writing, and executing test procedures for servicing or leak-checking GN2, GO2, and/or GHe, systems
  • Experience with test plan authoring for integrated system functional checks or hardware acceptance testing
  • Strong safety record and mentality, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical tests and operations.
  • Strong personnel, planning, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
  • Ability to operate, make decisions, and make forward progress in ambiguous environments
  • Travel periodically, to other launch sites less than 30%
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Work off-shift, extended hours, and weekends when necessary
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Must be able to gain U.S. Space force DBIDS access credentials
