What You Will Do

The Strategic Marketing Manager is responsible for leading or co-leading, managing and executing the strategic go-to-market related activities for the Trimble Applanix business. The leader will work closely with Applanix leadership, product managers, marketing communications, sales and wider cross-functional teams to identify, document and execute go-to-market strategies to deliver exceptional short and long team revenue and operating income growth for the business. The leader is a member of the Business team responsible for the vision and execution of the long-term go-to- market strategy.

The leader will collaborate with product marketing leaders across Trimble to adopt and share best practices and deploy the Trimble strategic marketing framework in the pursuit of strategic marketing excellence.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Roadmap Development and Execution
  • Working with the Business Development, Product Management and Marketing Communication teams, lead the go-to-market strategic plan development and execution for each business area

  • Propose new go-to-market strategies and execution in order to meet the overall strategy and objectives define in the Long-Range Business Plans

  • Drive continual Voice of the Customer (VOC) activities to validate markets and market segmentation

  • Deep understanding of customer needs and demands, points of differentiation, and of what a customer is willing to pay for new and existing solutions

  • Provide input and support to product management to enable effective management of pricing, product portfolios through lifecycle phases, strategic portfolio analysis, roadmap development, new product introduction process, end of life management / SKU rationalization

Sales Support / Commercial Excellence
  • Develop and support relevant sales training and any ongoing customer presentation materials

Demand Generation Support
  • Provide strategic guidance and work closely with marketing communications to help build brand and drive revenue growth

Technical Marketing
  • Working with the Lead Technical Authority for Mobile Mapping, develop the technical marketing strategy and plan, supporting the development of materials such as presentations, papers, and webinars

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • 10+ years work experience with a proven track record of success with demonstrable results e.g. in marketing, strategy, product or project management, engineering

  • Undergraduate degree in an analytical/technical e.g. engineering discipline. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the industry or end-customer industries is desirable

About Your Location

To foster strong working relationships, we are looking for this role to be located either at Trimble HQ in Westminster, Colorado, USA, or Applanix HQ in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. We will consider other Trimble office locations where applicable. Travel toApplanix HQ in Ontario, Canada will be required as often as monthly, if not in the area.
