The Regional PSM Manager ensures site process safety execution at the Panama City site while providing tactical and strategic leadership as a subject matter expert in risk management and process safety for all the Kraton Pine Chemical NA (North America) based sites. This role works collaboratively with the Global Process Safety Manager and Corporate HSES team to drive process safety improvements by utilizing OSHA 1910.119 rules and industry best practices to maintain safe and compliant sites that align with corporate goals and objectives. The role includes the following key tactical components at the Panama City site: overseeing the site PSM program, conducting PHA's, managing risk assessments, conducting LOPA's, participating in PSSR's, managing the MOC process, and facilitating investigations.

Key Responsibilities

The Regional PSM Manager component ensures PSM compliance through implementation and maintenance of NA PSM programs, collaborating with our NA sites and Global teams to implement Process Safety procedures and standards, overseeing system installations, and providing technical support on Functional Safety. Strong leadership, communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, chemical process knowledge, PSM regulation knowledge, and Engineering standards knowledge combined with a pragmatic approach are required.



  • Lead the Panama City Plant PSM program and the NA PSM program
  • Facilitate/Conduct/Scribe PHA's (HAZOP), LOPA's, and PSSR's across NA sites as needed
  • Oversees PSI (Process Safety Information) development and updates.
  • Oversees completion of action items generated via PSM.
  • Leads PSM and RMP compliance audits.
  • Leads process safe Incident Investigation process.
  • Actively drives NA site process safety to achieve a PSM culture that is Gate-to-Gate
  • Initiates projects to resolve identified gaps in PSM compliance.
  • Provides technical input and support for complex capital projects.
  • Expert in the application of Functional Safety tools.
  • Knowledgeable in Dust Hazard Analysis and Facility Siting
  • Provide direction and training to site PSM/HSES/Technical managers/Plant managers
  • Travel requirement of 15-20%

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of PSM covered plant production, process, project engineering or related experience.
  • Knowledge and capability to use advanced systematic and creative problem-solving tools.
  • Ability to conduct briefings to senior management.
  • Ability to lead PHA's and utilize documentation software to generate final PHA reports.
  • Experience with control systems design and programming
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using SAP is desired
  • Knowledge of OSHA, RMP, NFPA, ASME, and API

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical field
  • Master's degree in process engineering a plus
