OVERVIEW:

This is considered a TEMPORARY ROLE. As a Wet Weather Program Senior SSES LCR Technician, you will be responsible for field data collection activities associated with the completion of a typical Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) for the Wet Weather Program as well as field verification of water service line materials. These surveys include flow monitoring, closed-circuit television (CCTV), smoke testing, manhole inspections, dye testing, service line verifications, and other services as assigned. A wide range of software, hardware, and processes will be used to efficiently identify and exceed client needs and expectations.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE:



  • Performing field investigations by collecting high quality and accurate data.
  • Perform manual excavations of water service lines
  • Perform material tests to determine material of water service lines
  • CCTV Inspections - record various pipeline attributes and identify defects.
  • Manhole Inspections - record various structure attributes and identify defects.
  • Smoke Testing - conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered.
  • Night Flow Isolations - measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage.
  • Dye Testing - conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding.
  • Flow Monitoring - install & maintain open channel flow metering equipment.
  • Ability to work in Confined Spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.
  • Review data collected in field to ensure quality and accuracy of information.
  • Project planning to meet client requirements.
  • Hardware and Software troubleshooting, support, repair, and testing.
  • Inventory management and control.
  • Frequent overnight travel is required.
  • This position requires a lot of walking outside and climbing ladders year-round through various terrain and in extreme heat, cold, and immaculate weather.


WHAT YOU NEED:



  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • At least three years of SSES and Field Service experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.
  • Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.
  • Should possess basic computer skills.
  • Good technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Process oriented individual.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is preferred.
  • Experience with data collection for SSES or other underground utilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification is required.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record, drug test, and criminal record.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods working in outdoor conditions in varying terrain types.
  • Prolonged periods working in outdoor conditions in varying climates.
  • Must be able to lift equipment up to 45 pounds at times.
