The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an experienced Site Security Coordinator (SSC) to oversee critical construction activities at our North Logan, Utah campus. The ideal candidate will possess an active Government Security Clearance and collaborate closely with our Site Security Manager (SSM) to ensure the seamless implementation of security protocols across multiple construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure construction activities comply with ICD-705 Technical Specifications and meet government customer requirements
  • Oversee Guards and Construction Surveillance Technicians (CSTs) on-site, under the direction of the Site Security Manager
  • Manage daily escort operations for construction workers and other personnel, coordinating Guards and CSTs to monitor site activities effectively
  • Document and report security anomalies, variances, or violations identified by CSTs, ensuring alignment with approved construction plans
  • Resolve construction-related issues (processes, personnel, materials) in accordance with building plans, ICD-705, and relevant government guidelines
  • Train and coordinate Guards and CSTs in conducting thorough inspections of all incoming materials, packages, and vehicles to prevent prohibited items from entering the site
  • Implement random site area inspections and enforce the Construction Security Plan (CSP) to maintain a secure work environment
  • Serve as acting Site Security Manager when required
  • Compile and maintain detailed daily logs of construction activities and incident reports
  • Continuously assess and enhance security protocols to adapt to evolving project needs and government regulations

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must possess Top-Secret Clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance (SCI) Eligibility
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience as a trained CST or Site Security Coordinator
  • Field experience as CST or SSC, working ICD-705 construction projects, including escorting construction personnel and verification of building requirements
  • Formal ICD-705 training within the last 5 years
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the ICD-705 and DODM 5205.07
  • Ability to work independently to identify, assess & report unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clear and cogent presentation of complex information
  • Ability to manage time and personnel, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
  • Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi-task, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in a large, complex environment
  • Must be able to work a consistent schedule and may require shift work

Physical Requirements:
  • This position may require lifting (up to 20 lbs.), standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday. Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of functions
  • Ability to walk across uneven surfaces of a construction site, frequently go up and down stairs, and walk long distances

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reading and analyzing blueprints and other building plans
  • Proficient with Microsoft word, outlook, PowerPoint, Vizio, excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience reading and analyzing blueprints and other building plans
  • Experience with DIA-accredited, ICD-705 projects
