Faculty Part-time - World Languages and Cultures in Italian

General Summary of Position:

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach two sections of Italian 1 and Culture (pending enrollment). The successful candidate will be expected to begin work on January 21, 2025.

Under the guidance of the Italian program coordinator, the ideal candidate will enhance the student's learning experience by integrating a variety of methods and strategies into the teaching process and maintaining a student learning-centered environment. The Department of World Languages and Cultures seeks candidates who can contribute to that goal. Instructors will be expected to attend a scheduled orientation in January.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• M.A. degree or above in Italian in hand
• Native or near-native proficiency in Italian and English required
• Extensive teaching experience at the college level in lower-division courses using communicative approach in the classroom
