The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice Chair of Neurology/Vice Dean of Community Health and the Assistant Vice Dean for Community Health, the Program Coordinator will work independently and pro-actively to develop, implement, manage, disseminate, and enhance services, resources, facilities, and programs. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for multiple programs with complex, overlapping schedules.

The position is based in-person in Washington Heights, NYC. Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities




  • Strategic planning of partnerships, programs, projects, and deliverables including the development and monitoring of timelines and guaranteeing that schedules are adhered to.



  • Identify, establish, and cultivate bi-directional partnerships with internal and external groups from multi-cultural environments.



  • Deploy community outreach, education, and engagement activities to increase awareness of and enrollment to CUIMC-sponsored research and OCH initiatives.



  • Help with presentation, report, grant, and manuscript preparation, as well as collection of data and outcomes from services and programs supported.



  • Partner with departments, centers and research offices across CUIMC to support infrastructure for community health.



  • Oversee OCH communications including website content updates, maintenance of contact lists, development of marketing materials, and creation of other informational content.



  • Scheduling and management of meetings for routine operations, as well as for ad-hoc project-based needs. Developing meeting agendas, distributing notes on meeting content, and monitoring progress on action items.



  • Supervise staff and interns/volunteers and oversee personnel management documents including performance appraisals, vacation requests, and time off tracking.



  • Perform general administrative functions, and related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested




Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 3 years of related experience


Preferred Qualifications

Candidates fluent in Spanish with experience in community/civic engagement, academic-community research partnerships, participatory research, health education, health literacy, and/or health communications with minoritized communities will be viewed as extremely competitive. Master's degree in related field preferred.

Demonstrated achievement in superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, close attention to detail, high degree of proficiency with computer software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, project management tools), ability to quickly learn new programs, strong work ethic, ability to work independently, experience interacting with all levels of faculty, management and staff, ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives, and prior experience collaborating on grant and manuscript preparation and submission.
