Mansfield Service Partners is currently looking for a Day shift Dispatcher for our Houston, Tx location. The dispatcher manages complex delivery operations, including route planning, resource allocation, and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires balancing competing priorities, solving logistical challenges, and coordinating with drivers, operations, and customers to ensure efficient and reliable service. Additionally, this position contributes to process improvements, special projects, and strategic initiatives to optimize logistics performance and meet evolving business needs.

Essential Duties

Planning, Routing, & Operational Excellence

  • Utilize technology and logistics expertise to ensure service and delivery goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and within the designated timeframe
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes efficiently using Skybitz technology
  • Schedule the appropriate asset and driver(s) for specialized deliveries
  • Coordinate with the Terminal Manager to supervise drivers, handling the scheduling and planning of daily delivery activities
  • Dispatch fuel orders in accordance with DOT regulations and in the most cost-efficient way possible
  • Work with operations leadership to manager hours of service using telematics
  • Reinforce safety policies/procedures to staff as established by EHS
  • Assist in training new team members
  • Utilize technology to a level of proficiency sufficient for planning and creating orders
  • Collaborate with terminal managers and logistics leaders to resolve service delivery issues, such as retains, cross drops, spills, runouts, or mispulls
  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling needs with operations leadership to achieve excellent customer service and responsiveness
  • Execute processes, best practices, and initiatives as defined by leadership
  • Contribute to daily operations and routing efficiency by finding creative solutions to resource challenges.

Communication, Collaboration, & Teamwork

  • Communicate information and delivery instructions to the drivers including schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, emergencies, and other changes to mitigate potential delays to schedules
  • Effectively communicate special delivery information to pricing and billing teams
  • Report equipment breakdowns, and maintenance requirements to the Fleet Dept. promptly
  • Collaborate with customers, sales representatives, and managers to provide issue resolution and maintain high service standards. Handle inbound customer inquiries to provide ETAs and manage other requests. Make outbound customer calls to follow up special delivery requirements
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales to meet delivery requirements and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Make continuous improvement recommendations when appropriate to management
  • Attend and participate in safety and all other training provided
  • Report unsafe or near miss situations, and incidents to EHS and management promptly
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments to resolve service issues efficiently
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. This position may require weekend work and extended hours upwards of 50hrs per week.

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification

  • Minimum One (1) year of dispatch experience in the bulk freight distribution segment of transportation, or logistics
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Familiar with DOT & DISA background requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • Industry experience preferred: Oil & Gas/Fuels/Lubricants
  • Bi-Lingual preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and demonstrate sound judgment in high-stakes situations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
