United Church Homes | Diversity Employer
Our Mission and Purpose
Founded in 1916, UCH began its mission at a time of ethnic discrimination, poverty, and pandemic. There were no safety nets for the poor or older adults like there are today. Over the years, people and situations have changed, but our mission has remained the same to provide quality and affordable housing and healthcare options to older adults. Today, United Church Homes is a leading provider of healthcare and senior living services with a mission to transform aging by building a culture of community, wholeness, and peace for those we are privileged to serve.
Our Vision
The UCH vision, where the Spirit creates Abundant Life in Community, reflects our faith-inspired ties with the United Church of Christ and encourages new ways of thinking and talking about aging. It starts with celebrating older adults and evolving healthcare and senior living options to appeal to a new generation of people living longer, more active lives after retirement.
We help UCH residents define what living with purpose means to them individually through our commitment to:
- Drive conversations about transforming the experience and perceptions of aging
- Lead culture change to evolve older adult services from institutional-directed care to person-directed care that promotes choice, dignity, respect, self-determination and purposeful living
- Be an inclusive and equitable provider of healthcare and housing services for older adults of diverse backgrounds
- Practice our core values to support diversity, build equity and seek justice in the context of our ministry in the world.
