Sargento Foods Inc.

Sargento Foods has been a leader in cheese since 1953. We are proud to be the company that successfully introduced America to pre-packaged sliced and shredded natural cheese. Today, we manufacture and market amazing natural cheese products, as well as ingredients. Our third-generation family owners live to serve our communities and employees, who are part of the Sargento Family.
Competitive Pay and Benefits
Grounded in our corporate culture, Sargento provides a compensation and benefit package on par or better than those found in other organizations. As a privately-held and owned company, we are free to appeal to the interests of our employees and not to the whims of stockholders found in publicly-traded companies.
Competitive Pay
Annual Bonus Potential: All employees are eligible to earn a potential bonus based on corporate financial targets and the achievement of annual personal/departmental goals.
Paid Vacation & Holiday Pay: Based on years of service, all employees are offered paid vacation as well as 10 paid holidays
Tuition Refund Program: Sargento offers tuition reimbursement to cover degrees earned at all levels of education.
Health & Investments
Health, Dental and Vision Benefits: Both single and family plan coverage is available covering office visits, urgency care and prescription drugs. Sargento also offers the opportunity to participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA).
Health & Wellness Center: Our Plymouth and Kiel locations in Wisconsin have an on-site nurse practitioner and licensed therapist to provide convenient, basic medical services for all employees and their immediate family.
Flex 125 (Health Care & Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts): This benefit allows our employees the opportunity to create a personal reimbursement account with a pre-tax deferral for Health Care and/or Dependent Care.
Profit Sharing and Retirement Plan: This plan includes a 401(k) with a dollar-for-dollar corporate match up to 3%, a base retirement contribution and a profit-sharing plan.
Group Term Life Insurance: Base and Accidental Coverage.
Short-Term/Long-Term Disability: Sargento offers short-term and long-term disability benefits when injuries make it impossible to work.
A Foundation of Trust, Honesty and Fairness.
When Leonard Gentine Sr. founded Sargento in 1953, he also laid the foundation for a corporate culture that defines how we interact with others. Leonard taught his employees and his children that success was contingent upon working with good people and treating them the way you would like to be treated – with trust, honesty and fairness.
We have invested considerable time in defining our culture, and we ask every employee to help us maintain and enhance the Sargento spirit. This is how we will continue Leonard’s legacy and become an even greater company without losing sight of the principles and values that guided Leonard and should guide our actions every day.
Our Story:
At Sargento, we believe in the power of food to bring people together. From the Sargento Family of employees, to our customers, vendors and neighbors to us, we’re all family.
What has mattered since we began in 1953, still matters today, three generations later. We built our business on our founder Leonard Gentine’s belief that we hire good people and treat them like family. We have an insatiable winning spirit and are grounded in our faith in God. We share the results of our success with those who contribute to our success.
We’re passionate about serving our customers the best real food through our innovation, service, and quality. Our Sargento family drives value for the long term, and we believe that the power of real food can connect us all to what matters most today and every day.
