How do I become a Paraeducator?

Paraeducators are essential team members in K-12 schools, working under the guidance of certificated staff to assist with student instruction and curriculum planning. To become a paraeducator in Washington State, you must meet the requirements set by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB). If you don't meet the college prerequisites, achieving a qualifying score on one of the board approved paraeducator assessments will make you eligible.
