Are you ready to take ownership of a meaningful role supporting all aspects of indirect taxation for our multifaceted portfolio of Enbridge's U.S. entities?!

We're looking for a driven tax professional to help ensure full compliance with state, local, and federal laws across sales, use, motor fuels, and excise taxes. In this role, you'll be instrumental in strengthening our U.S. tax system-streamlining tax processes for maximum efficiency, supporting audit readiness, and providing technical expertise that makes a real impact. What you will do:

  • Manage tax audits including gathering data, documentation, reviewing information provided by the auditor, and responding to information requests from both auditors and third-party consultants.
  • Review and validate audit samples and provide technical sampling expertise on design of sampling plan.
  • Complete the timely compliance of sales, use, property and excise taxes returns. Complete journal entries and tax account reconciliations
  • Research state, local and federal tax issues relating to current and potential future activity
  • Prepare and present tax training presentations to internal partners
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Authority for Tax Software Implementation Projects
  • Analyzes transactional tax data for potential refund opportunities and coordinates identified refunds; recommends corrective action, where applicable, to prevent future occurrences of tax overpayment.
  • Collect, maintain, and issue appropriate exemption certificates and documentation

Who you are:

You have:

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Indirect Tax, preferably in the energy industry along with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related subject area

You can:

  • Show advanced knowledge of standard Transaction Tax concepts, practices, and procedures while having the ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload

You are:

  • An outstanding written and verbal communicator that is experienced with large ERP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred) along with being proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access

The following are considered assets:

  • ONESOURCE Tax Determination Software experience
  • Experience with oil and gas audits
  • Alteryx and Power BI experience
  • CPA/CMI designation preferred

  • Work performed in typical office environment with periodic overtime and minimal travel

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
