What you will do
  • Perform audits end-to-end including execution of audit procedures, conducting interviews, and evaluating the design and effectiveness of controls.

  • Apply critical thinking to identify areas for improvement, perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions.

  • Perform special project work at the request of management or the Audit Finance & Risk Committee.

  • Participate in departmental strategic initiatives and promote the Internal Audit function within the organization. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

Who you are

You have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, EHS, Business or other technical field with experience working either in Internal Audit or Field Operations;

  • Completion or near completion of a professional designation offered by IIA, ISACA, ACFE, PMI, or similar including, but not limited to CIA, CISA, CFE, and/or PMP.

  • Six or more years of directly related experience in internal/external audit, internal controls, investigations, or other related experience.

  • Understands audit methodology, audit procedures, audit sampling techniques, internal controls, risk management, IIA auditing standards, and performance benchmarking.

  • Ability to logically reason, think critically, analyze and evaluate data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions.

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to work in both Canada and the United States.

Focused Areas Experience

  • Previous experience in operational management systems as well as auditing management systems.

  • Knowledge of Canadian/US pipeline /asset regulations and auditing standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment.

  • Possible travel to Enbridge sites across Canada and the US might be necessary.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
